Stephen Edwards :: Stephen is qualified to REPS Level 3 with a Diploma in Personal Training. He teaches both individuals and groups. One-to-one sessions can take place at your gym, home or office, or even - weather and inclination-permitting – outside! Stephen believes in sustaining client interest by ensuring all sessions involve high quality training, but are varied and entertaining. Having worked for over a decade in the City, Stephen now likes to claim that he has moved from fund management to fun management. He is happy to work with you for general fitness purposes, but believes that training is usually more rewarding if trainer and client alike are working towards certain agreed, specific goals.

He has a particular interest in nutrition, which he considers to be the most neglected area of the health and fitness industry. Whilst in-depth study of nutritional habits is rarely practical in group settings, one-to-one training will, wherever possible, involve in-depth analysis of your eating patterns. His own interests have led him to study health and fitness-related works that focus on the influence and potential of the mind as well as on general lifestyle issues, such as stress, sleep patterns and bringing about meaningful change.

Stephen played team sports from an early age, excelling in rugby, hockey and cricket, both at school and university. After university, he continued to play club cricket and, in particular, hockey until an "annoying ankle niggle" led him to move from the sports field to the gym environment. Here he developed a passion for circuit training, boxercise and kick boxercise. For variety he has also been known to like indoor rowing and indoor cycling. In addition he practices yoga and, just to stay on his toes, so to speak, he has recently taken up fencing.
