A
Younique Fitness consultant will undertake all health and fitness
tests where applicable over the period of your programme. These
indicators are re visited regularly to monitor your progression
and the success of the Younique approach, whilst ensuring your
health and safety at all times.
These
tests include blood pressure, lung function, BMI body mass index,
Body Fat, Core Muscle Strength & Stability testing, Muscular
Endurance testing, VO2 testing and flexibility testing.
Blood
Pressure :: Blood pressure - reading systolic / diastolic
readings. To measure blood pressure, the Younique Fitness consultant
places a blood pressure cuff around the upper arm and inflates
the cuff with air. As the cuff becomes filled with air, the
pressure in the cuff increases, eventually cutting off the flow
of blood through the arteries in the arm.
The
Younique Fitness consultant slowly lets air leak out of the
blood pressure cuff, causing the pressure in the cuff to gradually
decrease. When the pressure in the cuff falls below the systolic
blood pressure in the arteries, the provider begins to hear
a characteristic thumping sound as blood starts to flow again
in the arm. The blood pressure cuff continues to deflate, and
when the pressure in the cuff falls below the diastolic blood
pressure in the arteries, the characteristic thumping sound
disappears. (read more...)
Lung
Function :: (Lung function tests or pulmonary function
tests, PFT) evaluate how much air your lungs can hold, how quickly
you can move air in and out of your lungs, and how well your
lungs add oxygen to the blood and remove carbon dioxide from
the blood. This is a test for your cardio vascular fitness,
which shows the efficiency of your lungs. (read

BMI
- Body Mass Index :: Your BMI is an objective scientific
measure, that uses your height and weight. You can calculate
your BMI by dividing your weight in kilograms by the square
of your height in meters. In other words the algebraic expression
for BMI is:
BMI = Kg / (m)2 (read

Body
Fat :: Measuring body fat percentage is an easy method
of discovering correct body weight and composition. Beneath
the skin is a layer of subcutaneous fat, and the percentage
of total body fat can be measured by taking the 'skinfold' at
selected points on the body with a pair of callipers. This test
only requires four measurements. (read

Core
Muscle Strength & Stability testing :: The objective
of the Core Muscle Strength & Stability Test is to monitor
the development of a Younique Clients abdominal and core strength.

Muscular
Endurance :: Muscular endurance is typically measured
by counting the number of lifts you can do with a fixed weight.
This is sometimes called absolute muscular endurance, as the
weight that is lifted is a fixed (absolute) quantity. This approach
can be used to show progress over time. A person might be able
to do only five arm curls with a 25-pound weight prior to a
training program but may increase that number to 20 after the
program. (read more...)
VO2
testing :: VO2 is the volume of oxygen the body consumes
at any given time. Measuring it during a VO2 Fitness Test gives
you the heart rate at your anaerobic threshold and if the test
is taken to a maximum intensity, your heart rate at VO2max.

Flexibility
Testing :: A Younique Fitness consultant will test
your flexibility and record each measurement to the nearest
1/4 inch on the chart below. These tests will be completed during
the course of the programme where applicable. (read
